Happy Valentine’s Day

Ah, my sweet little Squirt. Until he claims I’m ‘coffee-ing’ him. Then he storms off.

And to add insult to injury [or the other way around actually], as I was walking him to the bus this morning I slid on the sheet of ice that is my driveway. Then fell on my ass and continued to slide. It was awesome. I’m pissed Peanut didn’t catch it on video. We’d rake in the big bucks on America’s Funniest Videos. Though it would have been shaky as she and Boo were also laughing at me. *sigh. At least the bus driver and aid were kind enough to ask me if I was alright.

I’m ok though. I think. Actually, I’m really sore. And may have broken my butt. The biggest injury is to my pride of course. Nothing like a grumpy 4yo changing moods in a heartbeat. That kid laughed hysterically and a tad maniacally.

Anyway, hope you all have a happy Valentine’s Day and celebrate or don’t in whatever way you like best. Love you all.

Wait, that last paragraph begs the question: How do you celebrate today?

Hubs (Not a Detective, just a roadie Sarge) works tonight, so it’s one of those ‘just a Tuesday’ days for us as a COUPLE. I did, however, make it to the Kindergarten party, which I did last year for the mini now in 1st grade to take snacks and help the kiddo’s read their valentines to and from one another.
My day job is SO much easier than volunteering in the classroom. But, you do it for one and you do it for the other.
It’s a tradition that I will continue as long as they keep having class parties, and/or until they start being completely embarrased by me being there. For now, though, their little faces light UP when I walk in, and THAT makes Valentine’s Day super special to me.
Particularly since news of my first mini’s existence was delivered to Hubs in the weeee hours of Valentines Day a few years back, we silently celebrate that moment, that official starting milestone to parenthood, and even though our crazy schedules may not bring us together for a traditional mass-market-Halmark moment, we steal away when we can to acknowledge how deeply meaningful this day was for us then.

Not doing much just relaxing. In years past I have taken myself out to dinner. Called a fancy place and gotten a table for one. Just to poor this year.
